Longevity experts say that a peptide known as glutathione (GSH) can make you live longer. This compound consists of three amino acids that together play an important role in maintaining your health thereby increase the years that you can hope to live. Since GHS resides within the wall of the cells, they directly have an impact in clearing antioxidants. Longevity is indeed the desired result but what foods have glutathione? Read on to find out.




Sulfur Foods

Less intake of sulfur amino acid right away depletes GSH deposits in your body. Fortunately, sulfur is found abundantly in foods like cabbage, Radish, Broccoli, Kale, Watercress, arugula etc. With so many items of food available to you, you can choose one or the other on any given day and be filled with GSH.


Milk Thistle

Using milk thistle has been the practice around the world as a traditional folk medicine to alleviate immune dysfunction. The flavonoid complex called silymarin from milk thistle can repair liver damage. What it all boils down to is the fact that GSH gets enhanced by the milk thistle. The glutathione levels plunge to a very low level when excessive alcohol is consumed but glutathione immediately takes over the job of protecting the liver.



Acid comes to the aid of replenishing the immune system by restoring GHS levels. Diabetes is known to undergo a reversal with a-Lipoic acid. The acid secretes more insulin thereby reducing the effects of diabetes. It also restores GHS. HIV/AIDS patients who are benefitted by their lymphocyte function getting accentuated.


Whey Protein

When an immune response gets slower and slower, a dose of glutathione is what is needed. Whey protein does the job neatly. It rebuilds glutathione and boosts cysteine. Studies have shown that whey protein increases glutathione which strengthens the immune system and fights cancer. It also increases metabolism and reduces appetite which prevents overeating.

Avoid processed whey protein and protein isolate though. Organic variety is most appropriate because it is free of added hormones, artificial sweeteners, and pesticides. It is also gluten-free.


Vitamin C & E

Vitamin C raises glutathione in red blood cells whereas vitamin E works as an antioxidant. This prevents damage caused by reactive oxygen in collaboration with GSH. The recycling of glutathione by vitamin C and E will keep you free of diseases. Vitamin C is found in oranges, broccoli, guava, kale, green and red peppers and Brussels sprouts.

You can get vitamin E from avocado, almonds, trout, spinach, palm oil, wheat germs and sunflower seeds.
